BehindBras Enterprise Academy provides personal development workshops, vocational training in the fashion and creative industries, and follow on support women who have been through the criminal justice service. BehindBras Social Impact - Vision To seek to: • Give each woman a sense of purpose, practical knowledge and self-belief to support themselves and their families • Give families stability through the promise of paid work at the end of the programme • Teach former prisoners the value of education and training • Reduce re-offending rates among participants through employment opportunities • Deliver significant savings to the government due to reduced reoffending rates. Key beneficiaries BehindBras works with women who are or have been, involved in the criminal justice system to train and upskill them to be employable and have meaningful careers. The training programme is designed to identify and achieve a woman’s own sense of purpose. As the company grows, this user base will expand to include other socially excluded women facing barriers to employment. Service provided The training programmes will be delivered in female prisons across the country in the following structure. Personal development workshop curriculum • 8 workshops delivered over 2 months including comprehensive workbooks to track progress • The course covers pre-employment and life skills and includes core modules on: o Coping with change o Goal setting o Conflict management o Resilience training Post-workshop training opportunities - Textile Machinist - Lingerie Academy - Retail; Fashion Marketing; Visual Merchandising & PR - Admin/Fashion distance learning courses - Self-employment programme
