DesignWise Studios, founded by Stephen Kastner, produces all things digital... documentary films and photography, marketing campaigns and commercial productions. "I produce stories worth telling. Audiences typically respond to an authentic narrative when viewing any form of media," says Kastner. "I work from a lifetime of combined experience in journalism and art." In 2006, Stephen Kastner began shooting, editing and publishing documentary films. He was living in Dali, Yunnan Province, China helping to establish the Linden Centre, a boutique hotel and center for cultural exchange. He began working with a German videographer, creating works on Chinese arts and culture. For more than three decades, he had been building a foundation for the leap to filmmaking, beginning as an narrative painter, writer and professional photojournalist. In China, he met and learned from several film directors and completed three short films. In 2007, he returned to the US and has since been researching and teaching about the use of video as a persuasive tool in marketing.
