Northern Community Radio is an independent, nonprofit organization that operates two unique community-based public radio stations, KAXE and KBXE. KAXE serves most of north central and northeastern Minnesota with a 100,000-watt signal originating in Grand Rapids at 91.7 FM. KBXE serves most of the central and western parts of northern MN with a 50,000-watt signal originating in Bagley at 90.5 FM. Northern Community Radio also operates a translator in Brainerd at 89.9 FM.
