Neurobiology, embodied cognition, and of course psychology and sociology tell a DIFFERENT STORY. And while some parts of this story have been told for over a century, other parts are new and contradict assumptions made by great psychologists and sociologists alike. Especially within the realm of neurobiology, the last twenty years have seen fascinating intellectual battles fought over decisive topics - for example : 1. How does the brain create language and speech? How are words and meaning transported to another brain? 2. To what degree are our actions are conscious choices versus automated reflexes? How does that affect our communicative behaviour? 3. Which brain areas and neurotransmitters do we need to engage to change behavior? We NOT ONLY bring this knowledge to the table, we PUT IT TO GOOD USE.
