NSA Marine
www.nauticsa.comWhat sets NSA apart is the company’s ability to create custom commercial ship management and MRO programs for customers. This allows us to be the “right fit” for virtually any vessel fleet or company while providing maximum benefits to all involved parties. NSA has developed longstanding working relationships with vendors, suppliers and major local domestic labour organisations, allowing us to provide professional management services with an emphasis on safety, vessel availability and cost. NSA have extensive experience in providing a cost effective approach to provide solutions for vessel management working within an agreed budget. One of NSA’s finest achievements was previously operating the six Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) research and patrol vessels. At the time NSA, a 100% local maritime company, was initially awarded a 18 month interim contract by the DAFF in August 2013 to manage the return of the research and patrol vessels from the SA Navy back to the DAFF, which was done with overwhelming success. This project involved implementing an ISM system, bringing all vessels back into Class and Flag State, including all crewing from scratch to full complement in one month - a challenge accepted and a challenge successfully and efficiently conquered! Since having restored the DAFF vessels to operational fitness in August 2013, the vessels have had significant success patrolling and monitoring local waters and protecting South Africa’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), and have continued their vital role in the fight against maritime-related crimes such as piracy, drug smuggling, human trafficking, illegal and unregulated fishing and oil pollution abatement. NSA’s management services focus on the following areas: • Vessel maintenance, repair and overhaul • Spare part and obsolescence management • Planned maintenance systems development • Vessel management and crewing (ISM) • Maintenance capability creation and in-country skill development
