STATEWIDE ECONOMIC IMPACT: Maritime activity within the Port of New Orleans is responsible for 21,700 jobs, $4.3 billion of output and $76.8 million in state taxes. FEDERAL ECONOMIC IMPACT: An estimated 119,510 jobs in the U.S. are dependent on the cargo that is handled by the Port of New Orleans. Those jobs account for $29.8 billion of economic output.
