A 501(c)(3) Texas nonprofit dedicated to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting Austin's eclectic contributions to global pop culture. Supported by private donations and staffed by volunteers, the Museum's popular exhibits, outdoor memorial wall, and live concerts attract visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Besides serving as a gathering place for artists, musicians, and fans from the Vulcan Gas Company and Armadillo World Headquarters days, the South Austin Museum is a living example to newcomers of Austin counterculture in its free-spirited heyday.
