Artadia
www.artadia.orgArtadia is a national non-profit organization that identifies innovative visual artists and supports them with unrestricted financial awards and connections to a network of opportunities. Artadia was founded in San Francisco in 1999 by Christopher E. Vroom and a group of art collectors and philanthropists who recognized that visual artists could benefit from increased financial and professional support. After relocating to New York in 2002, the organization’s mission increased its geographical scope, expanding its grant-making program to artists living and working in seven unique urban communities: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco. Today, in its six active Award cities, Artadia annually awards unrestricted grants directly to artists through a curator-driven process. The organization also presents the Art & Dialogue series, which features studio visits and public programs showcasing Artadia’s Awardees, and the Artadia Fellowship, which supports immigrant and refugee artists with connections to Artadia Awardees in the Houston art community. Artadia is guided by entrepreneurial principles, community engagement, and a diverse national membership comprised of industry leaders who understand that funding arts has a direct impact on the quality of life for all Americans.
