Our mission today is to foster groundbreaking social research that improves the lives of people in North Carolina and around the world. Odum expands Carolina’s impact by providing education and support for planning, implementing, and disseminating research. We work to advance rigorous and reproducible research across the data, social and health sciences, while building collaborative, trans-disciplinary research networks. Our staff provides a range of consulting services on quantitative and qualitative methods, GIS and spatial analysis, survey research and data management to the UNC community and beyond. We also offer a wide variety of short courses on research methods and other data science topics each year, and operate one of the premiere social science data archives in the world. The Odum Institute provides a unique combination of services and support to guide our users through the research life cycle effectively and efficiently.
