Summit Rock Consulting (SRC) was developed through synergies evolving from over 17 years’ experience in the mining and manufacturing sector. The most immediate needs that exist in the industry are operational support and a next more detailed layer of management involvement. SRC focuses on these gaps. African growth has exposed a skills gap that can only be resolved through a focused business model of applied competencies in a well-structured process. In 2012 Summit Rock Consulting was contracted to provide mining maintenance support in Mozambique, and grew a company focused on strategic operational support to mines, original equipment manufacturers and other larger companies. SRC also realized that the services and support to mining operations will not always be a stable income source and although this income stream has higher margins it tends to fluctuate. We then focused on diversification and were successful in obtaining large contacts for South Africa’s strategic renewable energy projects being solar farms in the Northern Cape financed by international countries such as Brazil. SRC has a suitable range of skills and proven experience to support business through consulting, strategy development and execution in a project management frame work. These successes have been achieved for end users such as vendors to mining operations, heavy equipment manufacturers, universities and academic institutions as well as mining companies themselves.
