www.jofigura.comWith almost 10 years within the industry, I'm a young and aspiring DP from Germany, who has already seen a lot for his age. But to be honest: I don't like to call myself a DP. To me, a Director of Photography is someone with decades of experience in motion picture. But since - the DSLR revolution happened in 2008 - apparently you have to... Anyway. There are many things to keep in mind for every department, in order to make film well and to create "The Look" has become my true passion. I fell in Love with Lighting, Color Grading and the art of Steadicam, whilst working on a variety of sets, on every kind of budget. This has shown me how to create great content, even under roughest conditions. My work as technical sales specialist for a well-known camera manufacturer, has given me the knowledge and ability to really dig deep into today's professional cinema cameras and workflows. However, understanding, digital sensors, lenses and color science is not everything. Knowing what your director or customer really wants and understanding their needs are at least as important as getting the right frame for that perfect shot. My experience of working in over 12 countries worldwide and my extensive network of reliable, creative professionals, give me the ability to plan, shoot or supervise almost every kind of production from lens to post. I like to work with people who know what they are doing and I'm able to either join an existing team or take on a leader function.
