BioBuilder is a US-based nonprofit organization, which aims to increase interest, understanding and engagement STEM fields by transforming cutting-edge research projects in bioengineering into teachable modules that students and teachers can investigate together. Our curriculum takes a comprehensive approach to the field of synthetic biology, providing exceptional programming for students and educators alike. For students, we offer the chance to integrate biology and engineering through practical, hands-on lessons and BioBuilderClub activities. Our workforce development program offers students from traditionally under-represented populations the opportunity for laboratory and professional skills training in bioengineering, in pursuit of an internship in the life sciences. For educators, we offer opportunities for relevant professional development that fosters new methods of teaching designed to engage and inspire the young scientists in their classrooms.
