Valdosta Electric Company
www.valdostaelectric.comFounded in 1945, Valdosta Electric Company has led some of the largest electrical design and construction contracting jobs in the southeast. Our outstanding record of quality, attention to detail, customer satisfaction and job safety make us the company of choice for industrial and commercial clients. In 1965, at the age of 20, Ashley left Clemson University and returned to Valdosta to take over Valdosta Electric Company. Although the company was founded by his father, it had since been sold and buried in debt. Under Ashley's leadership the company was completely out of debt in less than ten months and was on track for tremendous growth. Three years later, in 1968, the new company headquarters was built at 3485 Bemiss Road, and still houses the company today. Ashley considers the employees the most important part of the company, so the first employee rule that he created in 1965 was "You don't work for us, you work with us." Since then, not a single employee has been laid off and that focus on employee partnership continues today. In addition to his role at Valdosta Electric Company, Ashley is currently serving his 5th term and the Sheriff of Lowndes County. Ashley Paulk, Jr., built Valdosta Electric Company on two things: industry-leading technical skill, and relationships with clients that last. We're carrying on the tradition with the same values, and a great team that understands quality and customer service. We look forward to building a great relationship with you.
