COGEIS SPA is a medium-size Italian construction company founded in 1963 in Quincinetto (Turin), in the Northwest of Italy. It operates in all aspects of the construction trade: road works, execution of important underground structures, hydraulic layouts, maintenance and modernization of hydroelectric systems, environment consolidation and protection, and civil and industrial building. Although COGEIS provides a wide range of services, it is specialized in works characterized by difficult environmental and weather conditions, such as high altitude projects, and in tunnelling. More specifically, COGEIS has been specializing in tunnels excavation for 30 years and nowadays it carries out this activities employing mechanized excavation equipment (Tunnel Boring Machine or TBM) both for tunnelling and microtunnelling. Cogeis has undertaken several projects involving the construction of underground sections designed for the production and transport of energy for different types of clients within the energy sector: oil companies, heat management companies, port companies and hydroelectric companies. Nowadays COGEIS SPA has a workforce of 300 people and has branch-offices with autonomous management in Switzerland, France, Poland, Austria, Canada and Panamá.
