There are many documents which outline both the physical and mental benefits of singing including increased oxygen intake which improves alertness, and better muscle tone in the back and abdominal muscles. Singing is totally absorbing and allows employees to move away from their usual workplace tasks, giving them time and space as well as a free stress management aid. There are additional benefits of not only singing but doing this in conjunction with workplace colleagues. Singing in groups builds cooperation and teamwork, develops community-based harmonious relationships, gets people thinking and improves personal confidence.
