Valor Residential & Educational Services- THP + FC- Foster Care-661-381-0183 A faith based, nonprofit, Community Service Organization. We provide vocational training and behavior modification to special needs at risk students between the ages of 18 & 21. Our main focus is a transition program for Non-Minor Dependents (NMD) who are aging out of the foster care system and adjudicated youth who will be referred to the program by the juvenile justice system. These students require further training in social, vocational, and independent living skills necessary to become successful, contributing members of the local community. We hope to provide vocational training, job placement and transitional housing. Recent changes in the foster care funding makes it possible for Foster Youth to remain in foster care as a non-minor dependent through the age of twenty one. The THPP+FC is a program offered by a licensed transitional housing placement provider to provide safe transitional housing and supportive services based on a Transitional Independent Living Plan (TILP). The TILP is developed with the youth and other supportive persons that details goals and objectives to achieve while working toward self-sufficiency. Our program the TRANSFORMERS has been approved by the Department of Human Services. Valor Residential & Educational Services with the assistance of our community partners, The Cross Christian Church, Set Free Inter City Ministries and Crossroads Christian Fellowship has acquired our license as a transitional housing placement provider. However, these youth need much more than a safe living environment. In order to remain in Foster Care or another transition housing program until the age of 21, a NMD must meet one of the following requirements: Be enrolled in a program of secondary education. Be enrolled in a post-secondary or vocational education program. Participate in a program designed to remove barriers to employment. Be employed for at least 80 hours a month.
