Centre for Environment and Disaster Management (CEDM) is a specialized Centre, established by Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, for conducting socio-legal research in the field of environment protection & disaster management, and to assists the governments in making better laws and policies. The Centre aims to serve as a research and training center in the field of environmental law and policy. It further aims to initiate and promote regional, national as well as international collaboration, fund-raising for the environmental cause. The centre intends to achieve the following objectives: To inculcate environmental awareness and sensitivity about the various environmental related issues among the various stakeholders; To impart comprehensive knowledge in environmental law and policy; To develop an understanding of key environmental issues relating to national and international importance; To develop practical skills to facilitate effective implementation of environmental laws; To upgrade the competencies of various professionals about environmental issues and its protection; To conduct various theme-based activities on the protection of an environment and sustainability.
