The Ocean Race 2023 is a six-month adventure in which the very best ocean sailors compete against each other around the world. The race starts in Alicante, Spain, in January 2023 and finishes that same year in Genoa, Italy. The Ocean Race is often described as the longest and toughest professional sports competition in the world, the most extreme challenge for any team. What is new is the longest leg ever. 13,000 nautical miles from Cape Town, through the inhospitable Southern Ocean, and non-stop to Itajaí, Brazil! Once this unique sporting event stops in The Hague, all eyes of the Dutch and international sailing community will be on our city The Hague. For a few days, everything in the harbour of Scheveningen will be under the sign of sailing, water sports and sustainability.
