Birmingham natives Jim King and Travis McGowin together have more than 80 years in the mortgage business here. When they founded McGowin-King Mortgage in 1998, they did so with a simple goal in mind: to build a business on relationships, and to foster those relationships with integrity, trust, and community involvement. Every loan we’ve brokered since that founding has been anchored in these beliefs. Now, our team has grown. Jim’s son, Jimbo, joined the company in 2006, and Travis’ son, Warner, joined in 2011. With a group of 14 originators, processors, and staff, we pursue a simple philosophy: We believe that when you exceed a customer’s expectations, you build a relationship.
