Teclen GmbH was founded in January 2017 and develops, manufactures and sells products for the pharmaceutical freeze-drying (lyophilization) industry. Sales activities for the Lyoprotect® Tray showed, however, that the tray is not necessarily the optimal solution for every customer. Many users already possess cups, trays or other containers which they would like to cover with a membrane in order to benefit from a freeze-drying process without contamination. But they don’t want to qualify a new container to this end. These factors led to the idea of the Lyoprotect® Bag, which can be customized to the user’s container dimensions. This means that basically every container, which is used for freeze-drying, can be protected by a Lyoprotect® Bag during lyophilization. Meanwhile, a patent is pending for this idea.
