The New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR) is a non-profit insurance company owned and operated by its subscribers – New York State counties, towns, cities and villages. The Reciprocal provides its municipal members access to customized, dependable and affordable coverage by enabling them to exercise substantive control over all elements of their insurance program. Since 1993, NYMIR has grown to represent over 860 municipalities in New York State.
