The Dutch part of the company was founded in Maastricht, February 2009, Lanterne Volanti simply meaning Sky Lanterns in Italian. Lanterne Volanti's focus is selling a product that meets Dutch regulations, The Netherlands being the only European company that states detailed requirements regarding Sky Lanterns. Meeting those requirements implies being authorized to sell lanterns in Dutch market. After many years of development our lanterns are supplied ready for use, their characteristics are fire resistant paper, metal free construction and high yield fuel cell. Lanterns come with a manual, are easy to launch: open the wrapper, unfold the lantern and light the fuel cell, after about 90 seconds it will float away. We are the technical partner of the Italian WWF, for that reason our lanterns have to be biodegradable. Our lanterns have been used for the Olympics, films, commercials, Earth Hour, company events but also for less visible occasions like weddings, new years eve, birthdays, town events and anniversaries. The non Dutch market is flooded with low priced and low quality lanterns that can create dangerous situations. In order to be more visible within the market we have created the brand Volanterna, indicating a lantern that meets Dutch safety requirements in order to guarantee a safe event.
