Ascension Eagles Cheerleaders in a registered charity founded in 1996 to help combat a lack of opportunities for young people in the London Borough of Newham, one of London’s most economically-challenged boroughs. Through cheerleading, we make a transformational difference to the lives of young East Londoners, by helping them to keep fit, develop citizenship skills, and learn about the importance of teamwork and self-discipline. We believe it also contributes to community integration. Based at our Talent Central gym at Gallions Reach in Newham, we use cheerleading as a 'vehicle' to give our athletes (aged 6 to 21 years) coaching, academic mentoring and practical life skills which can help them to reach their full potential in every aspect of their lives and to make a positive contribution to their communities.
