Water for Women is supporting improved health, gender equality and wellbeing in Asian and Pacific communities through socially inclusive and sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects and research. Gender equality and social inclusion are central to Water for Women. Actively involving all people within WASH systems (women, men, people with a disability, sexual and gender minorities and other marginalised groups) ensures more equitable and inclusive processes, which lead to more effective and sustainable outcomes in WASH. Water for Women is the Australian Government’s flagship WASH program and is being delivered as part of Australia’s aid program, investing AUD118.9 million over five years from 2018 to 2022.
