The Organic Farm has been growing local varieties of organic food since 1995 and focuses on Sustainability and Resilience in Agriculture, Diary, Infrastructure and Energy. We consider it important to share our knowledge of growing local sustainable healthy organic food, and partner with Farmers, Home gardeners, NGOs, Corporates and Education Institutions on raising awareness and/or being part of programmes in this space. We do so primarily through hands-on immersive programs on growing food and understanding sustainability at: - schools (students, teachers, parents) - corporates, on programs engaging employees to get hands-on with corporate social responsibility and understanding Food Security. - gardening communities - our farm, engaging with Farmers, Landowners and Home-gardeners Our primary aim is to use advocacy and collaboration to achieve Food security, Bio-diversity, Soil/Water conservation, Organic/Natural Farming, Building Communities to solve problems related to Food Security/Sustainability, Education & Health, Alleviation of Rural Poverty & Hunger and having a reduced human footprint on our environment. We specialise in: - Sustainable Farming practices - Training Farmers / Home gardeners and showcase our farm as an example of how to be both sustainable and profitable - Consulting ( sustainable organic farming) and Selling inputs (saplings/seeds/potting mix) - Working on educating people (Primarily schools/colleges and Corporates) on what they eat, how it is produced and how to grow their own food - Organising communities in home gardening (including a Facebook group of home gardeners with 100k+ members and a non-profit overseeing activities). - Work with rural communities on integrating rural artisan products into our model wherever feasible - Work with lower income sections of society and charitable institutions, helping them grow their own food For more information, get in touch at amahadevan@theorganicfarm.in
