Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), Ranchi has been established by an Act No. 18, 2015 of State Legislature of Jharkhand as a State University (notified by Government of Jharkhand vide notification No. L.G.-03/2014-133/Leg, dated 12th November 2015). As the Statutory body for the technical education in the state, this University has the territorial jurisdiction over the whole of the State of Jharkhand. The objective of JUT is to promote ecosystem of Technical education through Centre of Excellence in Education & Research in the domain of Science, Technology, Pharmacy & Management. The mandate of the University is to improve upon the existing ecosystem of Technology & Innovation in the state of Jharkhand. University is having 48 Polytechnic Colleges (24 Government, 16 Private and 8 PPP Mode), 16 Engineering Colleges (2 Government, 11 Private and 3 PPP Mode), 1 Diploma Pharmacy College, 1 Degree Pharmacy College, 1 Hotel Management College, 1 Architecture College and 1 MBA College, covering each and every area of the Jharkhand State as its affiliated Institutions.
