T2 Alloys Limited
www.tungum.com;www.t2alloys.comWe are manufacturers of corrosion resistant tubing for pneumatic and hydraulic instrumentation system applications. Our product, Tungum tubing, is proven to deliver safety critical, long-lasting solutions in demanding environments across the world. With a proven track record, Tungum tubing provides a cost effective and reliable alternative to stainless and super duplex alloys. Its distinctive properties and the team’s technical expertise ensures a risk free, on-time solution for a range of demanding, safety critical applications. Tungum tube was originally launched in the early 1930’s as a decorative alloy and soon became recognised as an excellent copper-based engineering alloy. From prior to World War II, right up to today it is a preferred material for many applications including the oil and gas industry, dive and marine applications and the defence sector. Tungum was introduced to the oil and gas industry in the 1970s when it proved more effective and long-lasting than stainless steels, particularly in terms of its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Stainless steels suffer from surface pitting corrosion as early as two years after installation, whereas Tungum resists the same corrosion process for significantly longer periods – demonstrating an installation life of up to 35 years. Also in the early 1970s Lloyds specified Tungum for use in oxygen lines on dive / hyperbaric systems for safety reasons and almost overnight, dive equipment manufacturers converted from stainless steel to Tungum on all dive system circuits. Tungum is ideal for these applications thanks to its non-sparking qualities. Tungum is approved and used by companies such as BP, Shell, Conoco Phillips, KBR & AMEC to name but a few.
