The mission of the Provo Community United Church of Christ is to be a sanctuary for spiritual growth in Jesus Christ. Through worship, service and fellowship we strive to be an inclusive, evangelical congregation the affirms and accepts diversity. Community is our middle name. The Community Church program as carried out in Utah means that the members of the mainline denominations all work in one designated church in the city. Thus there is one strong church witnessing for Christ rather than several small and ineffective ones. Thus we are serving American Baptists, Disciples of Christ, United Church of Christ, Lutherans, Methodists, and Presbyterians in Provo. We are an Open and Affirming Church: We welcome all who seek spiritual growth into our reconciling community. This includes persons of every age, gender, race, national origin, faith background, marital status, family structure, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, mental and physical ability, economic and social status, and educational background. We invite all persons no matter who they are or where they are on life’s journey to participate in the life, leadership, employment, ministry and mission of this family of God’s people and to share in worship and sacraments and to enlist in the work of this local church as it serves this community and the world.
