Women’s Business Station (WBS) was founded in October 2018 by social entrepreneur Angie De Vos. Women’s Business Station have a vision to help make starting and staying in business possible and accessible to women regardless of their economic status or background. And a mission to support the socio-economic empowerment of 10,000 women by 2030. WBS is governed by professional board and supported by over 60 local and national businesses across Scotland. What does WBS do and what has it achieved? Our model is based around partnering and collaborating with local businesses and professionals to empower local women-owned and women-led business to create local wealth. We do this through providing an annual programme of supportive training, follow-up courses, individual coaching and mentoring, network development, events and the formation of a close knit community. To date, WBS has either initiated or supported over 400 women to open and sustain a business. WBS specialises in micro business start-up support; providing a safe and encouraging place for women to become economically independent. Empowerment is at the heart of everything we do.
