Our Ethos: To be a client focused, values driven team; an industry leader in innovative methods of holistic wellbeing support. Our Values: Respect Integrity Empathy Community Our Services: VCSNB provides a holistic support service for current and former servicemen, servicewomen and their families by: 1. Being a recognised and trusted point of contact in the community. 2. Coordinating the care of client's needs through case management of specialist services and wellbeing support. 3. Providing advocacy assistance (military legislation) to clients with Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). Our History: The founders of VCSNB recognised the need to improve the quality and consistency of advocacy services (compensation and welfare) offered to current and former servicemen, servicewomen and their families. With this vision, the VCSNB was formed. VCSNB became a not-for-profit charity and incorporated association in June 2014. Since then, the organisation has grown, from its grass roots of volunteerism, to a combined staff comprising of paid employees and volunteers. Throughout this journey, VCSNB has kept clients at the centre of everything it does, resulting in significant changes to its Client Support Service. This service has shifted from a compensation and welfare advocacy first model, to a holistic wellbeing first model with advocacy forming part of the overall wellbeing for individuals and families. Clients will now experience triage, case management and connection with internal claims advisers, and a range of external specialist services appropriate to their needs. In recognition of providing this complementary service to its veteran community, VCSNB has been recognised as a public benevolent institution.
