SF New Deal
www.sfnewdeal.orgSF New Deal provides supportive services and financial opportunities for small businesses in San Francisco. We work to address both the symptoms and root causes of inequity by building pathways which connect local business owners, workers, community leaders, and neighbors in need, for the benefit of the entire city. About Us: SF New Deal began as a rapid response to San Francisco's COVID-19 shelter in place order. The first program (CBO) raised money from private donors to pay restaurants to make and deliver meals to food insecure individuals and families. SF New Deal worked in close partnership with many long-serving community-based organizations to identify and reach people closest to harm and deliver nourishing meals made by local restaurants facing extreme economic hardship from a drop-off in revenue. We've seen the impact and success of this model and scaled our programs and services in partnership with the City government and private funders. After two years, we have extended program and service support to more than 620 local businesses representing over 3,500 jobs, disbursed more than $33 million in financial relief and assistance, and delivered more than 2.9 million meals. More than 80% of local businesses that have participated in our programs are owned by women, BIPOC, or LGBTQ+ identifying people. We are helping to keep businesses open, workers employed, and our neighbors in need nourished. The fragility of small businesses and food insecurity were challenges that persisted prior to the pandemic and will continue to exist afterward. Together with you, we are building a vision of a new model of community care. Join us!
