SEDS@UMD

seds.umd.edu

Our initial project was UMD’s first student-designed CubeSat named TERPSAT. We have since expanded to include liquid rocketry and custom fabrication of satellite components. Through Terps in Space, we mentor local high school students about space sciences and engage the broader community. SEDS@UMD enables learning about satellite design, space systems engineering, and mission operations. We offer opportunities to broaden students’ college experience by giving them tools to acquire professional mentorship, learn interdisciplinary skills, and form new relationships with peers who also love space! We have training programs for our various teams and host talks with other SEDS chapters and industry to gain valuable transferable knowledge. As well as new friendships SEDS@UMD is a great place to find job and internship opportunities, since we have a growing number of alumni posting opportunities. SEDS-USA hosts a yearly conference, SpaceVision, for students to attend a space-centric symposium and job fair. As we continue our outreach and fundraising efforts, we need new members to increase our already amazing talent pool. With our inclusive atmosphere we welcome students from all majors to join our activities. We also seek faculty who wish to interact with undergraduate and graduate students on their space-related research. We are open to hearing about any new project related to space development and exploration. You have the ability to become a leader in the final frontier! Come join our team!
