The aim of “Female Founders Association“ is to achieve an open dialogue between all levels of business, science, public sector and civil society, to recognize the role of women as founders and entrepreneurs and to discuss, reflect and improve the key factors of female founders business start-ups. Systemic issues may induce or deter women from founding a start-up. Interdependence and decision-making under uncertainty are key factors to be considered. “Female Founders Association“ strengthens mechanisms that facilitate managing and mitigating these challenges. It examines the impact of the economic and societal environment in which female founders are acting, the levers and barriers for female founders, and explore the extent to which self-reflection, self-organization, ecosystems, coopetition, co-creativity by female founders can help to increase the success rate of female start-ups. Two factors that are often identified in research as barriers are access to funding and access to first-class mentoring. “Female Founders Association“ will explore all available options to reduce these barriers.
