Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County (formerly HIS House) has been serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness for the last 31 years. Our mission is to empower the homeless to regain self-sufficiency. What sets Homeless Intervention Services of Orange County apart is that we provide four programs, each tailored to the needs of four different homeless or housing insecure populations; families, young men, college students, and senior citizens, to ensure the effectiveness of the work we do. -Transitional Program - Stable housing and supportive services for families and adults to empower them to regain self-sufficiency. A total of 54 beds are available in North Orange County. -The CHESS Program - Combining housing, education, and basic life skills training for young men 18-24. Young men complete school or job training and have 1-2 years to complete the program. -HomeShare OC - A home-sharing program for older adults and homeless college students. -Housing Connection - The Housing Connection program provides the support that homeless individuals and families need in order to successfully transition from living on the street to thriving in homes of their own.
