The mission of Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce is to represent the business community in striving to preserve a working partnership of business and professional people that promotes, protects, and expands the free enterprise system, to enhance the members ability to conduct their individual businesses successfully, and to improve the economic stability of the community. Chula Vista means “Beautiful View” in Spanish and, indeed, the city lives up to its name. Located just seven miles from downtown San Diego and seven miles from the Mexican Border, the city is at the center of one of the richest economic and culturally diverse zones in the United States. With a population of over 272,000, Chula Vista covers 52 square miles and is bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the West and mountains on the East. As the Second largest city in San Diego County, Chula Vista has quickly become a special destination for tourists. Watch athletes train at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center, take in an outdoor concert at North Island Credit Union Amphitheater or make a splash at Aquatica, SeaWorld's Water Park. And there is more-top notch golf courses, a scenic marina, the Living Coast Discovery Center, beautiful parks, and an endless variety of dinning, shopping, hotel/motel accommodations, business and leisure opportunities. With its master planned, and well-established communities, the city continues to provide the best in living choices from estate homes to affordable housing. Established in 1927, the chamber serves as the voice of the Chula Vista businesses that provide jobs, generate tax revenue, build infrastructure, and provide services for the City of Chula Vista. Our members are the key contributors to the local economy and have helped foster growth of new businesses and commerce throughout the region. They also make significant contributions to the local economy and employ more than 30,000 individuals in the region.
