TopicUK initially launched in Wakefield several years ago to provide affordable and sometimes free promotion for Wakefield businesses. Since this time, due to increased demand and interest from across the region, we now work with businesses across Yorkshire. There are many SME’s who do not have a voice, something that TopicUK now provides. We do not employ the services of journalists, instead we ask the local business community to submit articles on specialist subjects so all information is not only up-to-date, but written by specialists in their field. This in turn puts the magazine under the ownership of the business community. Although we are not a registered charity, we are non-profit, all is reinvested for growth of both pagination and distribution. We encourage businesses to work with us over a 12 month period where we can promote them both in print and digitally as we generally feel that one-off advertising is not effective. We understand that the role of large companies in our region is not necessarily to promote their goods or services, but to show their support of others within their community, whilst gaining valuable PR for themselves, which helps when they recruit and for their charitable activities. Support from larger businesses for TopicUK is vital to ensure it remains healthy and continues to support everyone.
