Electronic Lockbox Services
www.lockboxservices.comELS was created in 2012 by Renaissance Electronic Services to expand the administrative savings of electronic transactions to payment processing. Operations began in 2013 with the release of Electronic Merchant Account (EMA). EMA establishes the banking connection between the dental office and ELS. Once established, it can be used to process merchant services, payments from patients, and even payments from insurance companies. The ELS application provides a real-time view of payments as they are received as well many innovative features, reoccurring payment processing, and extensive management/posting reporting. ELS is growing very rapidly. In 2013, ELS processed $8.7 million in merchant services and in 2015 will process over $170 million. In 2015, ELS released Electronic Patient Statements. This product allows offices to send patient bills directly from their practice management system to ELS. Patients registered with ELS receive their patient statement electronically while the others are delivered by mail. Patients receive bills faster, can pay online, establish a digital wallet, and maintain a history of their bills and payments. Dental offices typically pay $0.76 per statement mailed. With Electronic Patient Statements, offices pay no per transaction fee. ELS will soon release Electronic Payments, a one stop, multi insurance company payment solution. 11 insurance companies are committed to implement with more in process. When a dentist submits a claim to a participating payer, they will receive an electronic explanation of benefits with the payment in as little as 8 seconds! Technically, the payment clears that night but the office can complete payment posting and collect any patient portion at the time of service. ELS’s goals are aggressive and it is committed to processing $4 billion in payments in 2021. It sounds unachievable, but it is no more than accomplishing the same results with payments as we have done with electronic claims.
