Our mission is simple… Developing Lifelong Excellence in Young People. We achieve this through performance opportunities and a commitment to education in the performing arts with core values of Integrity, Commitment, Respect and Excellence. Our primary performance group is the World Champion Carolina Crown drum corps, established 1990 for students aged 16-21 years. Over 700 students audition to be one of 160 performers that embark on a journey of a lifetime traveling 14,000 miles and performing for hundreds of thousands. Arts Education Programs within Crown include the York County Honor Band established 2000. We give back to the community by bringing an enriching 2-day educational experience to 100 band students and music educators from eight neighboring middle schools. CrownLEARNING series of clinics for 500 high school students includes side-by-side interaction with Carolina Crown as well as some of the best educators in the country. BandBEAT marching band championship serves 1500 as 20 high schools converge on Rock Hill, SC to perform before 5000 fans and receive performance input from top clinicians. Two annual spectator events; CrownBEAT in Lexington, SC and NightBEAT in Winston-Salem, NC, showcase Carolina Crown and 20 of the finest performing ensembles in the world to 15,000 students and marching arts enthusiasts. Our new initiative, CrownCARES, looks to “impact a generation” through personal engagement and understanding the needs of the underprivileged. We work alongside worthy causes and offer our expertise and resources for the betterment of the lives of those who need a hand up. In 2017, 3000 youngsters will be given shoes, socks and a message of hope at three events in North and South Carolina, as well as in Missouri while Carolina Crown is on tour. We operate a music supply business providing below-market priced instruments and accessories to school band programs, and a ticketing operation primarily serving music and performing arts events.
