Our Academy program follows the guidelines of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) and serves law enforcement agencies throughout Southern California. The Rio Hondo Regional Training Center provides recruits with the academic skills, practical scenario training, physical training and discipline to prepare them for a career in law enforcement. The Academy program trains pre-service recruits that are either putting themselves through the academy or are employed and being sponsored by a law enforcement agency. Our Academy is designed to satisfy all POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training), State of California, Basic Law Enforcement Academy training requirements for students wanting to be hired by a law enforcement agency or for newly hired peace officers. All graduating students will be able to meet or exceed the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) professional standards and successfully pass all written and practical skill tests required for a California.
