Langelütje GmbH
www.langeluetje.deLangelütje stands for outstanding quality. For colourfulness. For style. For fitting messages. In 2007, Larissa von Buchwaldt founded the card publishing company Langelütje. Over the years, the publishing company has made a name for itself in the industry, especially with its postcards. We are best-known for our fitting messages and our classic design, which we never compromise on. A Langelütje card is easy to recognise and, above all, has a high level of brand recognition. It is increasingly sought out specifically by customers. We are delighted that the book trade in particular has recognised that Langelütje cards are cards for readers. They are for people who love expressing themselves and have a feel for the nuances of the German language. The ideas for our cards are taken from real life, which explains why they are so apt. Our customers include bookshops, design shops, florists, coffee houses, museum shops, gift shops and hotels. Their customers are humorous and thoughtful people, introverts and extroverts, big and small, tenacious and gentle. Our cards speak to people who know themselves, and realise that aspects of their lives are expressed by us – point by point and in brief notes. But one thing is certain – there’s a card for every occasion. About the company name The LANGELÜTJES were sugar manufacturers originally from Hamburg and Meißen. Gerta Langelütje – grandmother of the company founders – was the last living person with that name. In memory for their grandmother, and for the many amusing and interesting life stories, the company was named after their ancestors. The name, as well as the memory of so many family members, will therefore live on. The armadillo as part of the logo Members of the LANGELÜTJE family, including Gerta Langelütje, emigrated to Brazil in the 1920s where they kept Molly, the armadillo, as pet. Molly was renowned for her trusting nature. She was a fixed member of the Langelütje household. Anyone who has ever had the good fortune of seeing armadillos up close will know how much attention these playful animals attract. You cannot help but notice them. And LANGELÜTJE’s cards are equally noticeable. Because of her unique and positive presence, Molly the armadillo has now become the company animal and mascot.
