R&R was founded in 1985 when Catherine and Jay Weil felt a calling to help the elderly live comfortably and stay in their own homes even as their needs and abilities changed with advancing age. Catherine’s love for providing care to the elderly was first revealed when she was called to help her own mother, who lived to the age of 95. Catherine and Jay believed that everyone deserved the opportunity to age with dignity and autonomy. Thus began their mission to offer Rest and Relaxation to the elderly. The purpose that originated with one family has grown into a family of companies dedicated to providing seniors in the Greater New Orleans area with compassionate, professional care. R&R Home Care offers licensed medical in-home care, while R&R Care Solutions provides companionship and non-medical assistance. As the R&R name has grown and healthcare options have changed, the company has expanded its mission. Today, we strive to provide more than just care – we offer comprehensive solutions to the problems that arise with aging. In 2015, Catherine and Jay’s daughter, Janell, left her career as a healthcare attorney to help with the family business while Catherine underwent cancer treatment. After six months, Catherine’s treatment was complete, but Janell found that she loved working for R&R, so asked to stay on. Together, the Weil family is continuing to expand the services offered by R&R Home Care and R&R Care Solutions to meet the growing needs of an aging population.
