The JHF Youth Charity (The Jack Hazeldine Foundation) is a charity that aims to empower and inspire young lives through the strength of positive relationships. The JHF Youth Charity supports vulnerable children and young people by giving them access to experienced and passionate youth mentors and tutors. Through the development of a bespoke mentoring programme, the provision of unique learning opportunities, and the support of a consistent, positive role model, children and young people are empowered to thrive. Many of our service users are excluded, at risk of exclusion or generally finding life difficult in mainstream education. In addition, a large percentage have endured Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) which are stressful or traumatic events including trauma, neglect, or abuse. ACE’s are strongly linked to the development of a wide range of issues and health problems throughout a person’s life, therefore our aim is to help increase resilience, build self-esteem and promote positive change for the future. Mentoring sessions are targeted using a specific outcomes framework that measures impact in the following areas: behaviour & resilience, relationships, healthy living & exercise, confidence & self-esteem, skills & knowledge and community engagement. The process of setting and achieving personal goals in a safe, supported environment empowers children to overcome obstacles, achieve personal growth and ultimately flourish within their families, schools and wider communities.
