Architecture Discipline
www.architecturediscipline.comNew Memories, New Histories l Progressive Design for a Changing World Founded by Akshat Bhatt in 2007, Architecture Discipline is a New Delhi-based multidisciplinary architecture practice. We aspire to create environments that foster happiness and optimism for the future, bringing value to people’s lives. Our work is driven by a context-centric, rational approach of ideation, which is then defined by a highly technical outlook with a focus on flexibility and longevity. Our portfolio spans typologies from residences to large-scale public assignments. Notable projects include the award-winning Mana hotel in Ranakpur, Rajasthan (2013); the Discovery Centre, a town hall for Bhartiya City in Bengaluru (2014), the India Pavilion at the Hannover Messe in Germany (2015), which was adjudged the best pavilion in the 65-year history of the Messe, and the Corporate Headquarters for East India Hotels, for The Oberoi Group, in Gurugram (2019). Other work includes retail spaces for Forest Essentials and Perona; workspaces for Delhivery, and Motherland Joint Ventures; hospitality and F&B spaces for The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, The Postcard Hotels and Resorts; and brand developments for The Oberoi Group. Urban scale commissions include JDH, an urban regeneration project in the Walled City of Jodhpur; and the Mohalla Clinics, primary healthcare facilities for The Government of Delhi. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, two concepts were presented at the London Design Biennale in 2021: Life CMF, a community medical facility built from repurposed shipping containers, and the sChoker, a digital neckpiece enabling social distancing using infrared detection. Our work features in leading global magazines and has won awards including EDIDA India, an NDTV DAA Architect of the Year Award, 4 listings on Architectural Digest’s AD100 list, 13 awards from the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID); citations from the NGMA, the Alliance Francaise, and the Government of India.
