The University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work (SSW) promotes the highest standards of integrity, and excellence in research, teaching and service, and creates collaborative scholarly and educational opportunities for students and the community, with the goal of achieving a just society. For undergraduate studies, the School offers the CSWE accredited Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree with in-person (Arlington campus and at the UTA Fort Worth location) and fully online options. SSW also offers the Bachelor of Science in Substance Use & Treatment (BSSUT) major with in-person in Arlington and fully online options. Both BSW and BSSUT degrees can now be completed 100% online. There are three undergraduate minors offered to UTA students: Diversity Studies (certificate option available), Substance Use Treatment and Social Justice & Social Welfare. For graduate studies, the School offers the CSWE accredited Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. The top-ranked MSW program is offered in-person at the Arlington campus and at the UTA Fort Worth location and fully online. MSW students can choose from five specialties: Aging, Mental Health & Substance Abuse, Community & Administrative Practice, Health Services and Children & Families. The MSW program also offers four graduate certificates to UTA students, graduates and non-degrees seekers: Administrative Leadership, Policy Leadership, Community Leadership and Organizational Leadership. MSW students can complete the program fully online for both in-state residents and out-of-state residents. The MSW program with Advanced Standing options can be completed in 12 months. Traditional students can complete the MSW program in 24 months. The BSW degree and the GRE are not required for admissions. Students in the BSW, BSSUT and MSW programs can start summer, fall or spring. The School offers a PhD in Social Work degree with a cohort starting every fall semester.
