The Drama Association of Wales exists to create opportunities for people to become actively involved in theatre activities which are rewarding, fun and of a high standard. It also houses the largest specialist Drama lending library in the world. Most of our membership is based in Wales, but we also have members from across the world. As members of the International Theatre Exchange there is also an international element which provides Welsh Amateur groups with the opportunity to take part in International festivals. Our main activities involve: Supporting seven regionally based Drama Festivals in Wales which lead up to the Welsh Final (June 4th and 5th in Swansea in 2010) and the British Final (June 25th & 26th in East Kilbride); Our annual Playwriting Competition: which atrracts 200+ entries each year; Our annual Summer School for Amateur Actors (in Aberystwyth University August 15th to August 21st 2010); Our Play Publications; A script reading service.
