Hoyos Autism Foundation
www.hoyosautismfoundation.comHoyos Autism Foundation (HAF) is a non-profit organization created primarily to improve the quality of lives of teens with the autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families, especially those families faced with financial challenges. The adolescents along with family members and professional therapists will participate at outings to be held at incredibly fun entertaining places located mostly throughout Florida and some in Puerto Rico as well. These outings will also help the teens improve their communication and socializing skills. Every year approximately 50,000 teens with autism become adults and lose school-based autism services. To date no cure has been identified nor do we know for a fact what causes autism or related conditions. In lieu of this harsh reality we must prepare as much as possible our autistic adolescents before they lose school-based services, so they will be better equipped to transition into a vocation suited to their specific capacities. Hoyos Autism Foundation vision is to provide a better quality of life for teens with ASD and equally to help these adolescents improve their overall behavioral skills. Ultimately, this will enhance vocational placement opportunities before they lose school-based services and eventually grow into some sort of independent livelihood.
