The Fire & Rescue Department's primary mission is to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Powhatan County. This is accomplished through the delivery of emergency medical ' services, fire suppression operations and fire prevention through inspections and public education. . The mission of the department is achieved through the combined staffing of volunteer, career and contracted staffing.
