The Eastern Mediterranean Institute work in the Syrian issue has begun since 2013. EMI works on different fields in large geographical areas within Syria. EMI work focuses mainly on building the capacities of the Syrian institutions and on supporting the community health and cultural awareness. EMI is registered in Turkey and has three offices inside Syria in Aleppo, Idlib and Daraa. Our mission: Providing training services, consultancies, researches and projects implementation and development in order to contribute to the establishment and improvement of the different institutions and entities, and in order to consolidate the administrative management and the good governance. The most important targeted segments and institutions by EMI in Syria: - Local administrative councils - Civil society organizations - Women and mothers in particular, EMI is consisted of five departments: 1. Training 2. Researches and Consultancies 3. Monitoring and Evaluation 4. Projects Implementation and Support 5. Peace Building Researches Department In the field of researches and consultations EMI has carried out a number of studies that focuses on the political and military changes and orientations that occur in Syria. Monitoring and Evaluation: In the field of Monitoring and Evaluation there are two sections: 1-The internal monitoring on EMI implemented projects through the surveys before and after every project or workshop, the reports as well as the final study which evaluates the project work as a whole. 2- EMI conducts monitoring and evaluation on the implemented projects by other parties. Here, the work mechanisms vary according to the requirements of the project and the donor that determines these mechanisms.
