Our mission is empowering individuals with Down syndrome by providing free educational and therapeutic programs; creating and participating in events to increase family and community information sharing, while promoting outreach and social connections. Through our work we aim to be a central resource for the Down syndrome community. We are a community center where individuals and their families gather to celebrate, inspire, and empower each other. We are an education center where weekly educational and social programs prepare individuals with Down syndrome to engage more fully in their homes, communities, and schools. We are an awareness center dedicated to changing Houston's perception of Down syndrome, so that the abilities and contributions of our community are recognized and embraced by all. GiGi’s Playhouse Houston is something different to everyone. It may be family support, an educational experience, community awareness, a party, informational network, or a self-esteem boost. For all it’s a Place to Belong. We make a commitment to offer lifetime support, from diagnosis through adulthood, sending a global message of acceptance for all.
