Beyond the Box is South Carolina's first-ever non-profit that empowers high school students to take a creative and unconventional approach to social change. We believe that students' social action doesn't have to be limited to picking up plastic bottles from beaches or advocating for a cause—youth can be social innovators, crafting and executing more effective solutions to our community's most pressing issues. By training students in concepts of lateral thinking, social innovation, and design, we're able to tap into students' creative potential, harnessing the potential to create ideas that would otherwise go undiscovered. As a result, we foster social innovators as opposed to student volunteers, applying their design, creativity, and problem-solving skills to leave an indelible footprint in their schools, communities, state, and world.
